Busy...oh so busy...
This weekend was one busy weekend. Starting with Friday, I had went to classes, went to a meeting, went to work, and then I went to this Peak Performers boot camp for Leaders, and then my car wasn't functioning as well as it normally did. So, school was pretty good. I had to leave class early to make it to a meeting off campus. The meeting went very well. Then, I went to work as a tutor at a charter school where I work with children that has a 60 to 70% chance of failing. The tutoring went well. The kids are understanding and I'm happy to know that. Then, afterwards I went to get something to eat and headed to this Leadership conference called Peak Performers boot camp. It was definitely worth going. Although I was tired after I left, this guy that I liked invited me on a date and we went to see the Grace Card the movie. I really enjoyed it. Its a wonderful movie that I would encourage everyone to see. So, lets go to Saturday. Saturday was busy as well. I had a road race that morning downtown. The race went well. My team mates and I that ran placed top 1-6 out of 373 people. So, I was pretty happy. I wasnt as pleased with ,y time although I'm recovering from a stress fracture and getting back.. Well thats just a taste of what my weekend was like. But, I have to say that although it was busy, I enjoyed every moment of it. It was full of lessons to learn and memories to enjoy. Now, I have to jump back into school mode. Have a blessed week everyone.!!

What's going on in the world?
Today's youth needs to become more concerned with whats going on in the world. I feel that if we are getting behind in learning our history and taking a stand on certain issues. We are to caught up in this technology era and we are letting important information fly by. I notice that as we sit in our English class, our teacher asks us, "what's going on in the world"? And unfortunately, only a few people answer. It is many things going on that we need to know about. There could be a new law that comes out that makes all people between the ages of 13-19 wear only pants or something crazy like that and they put a punishment on the law that makes it mandatory. And the bad thing about that is, many people will get the punishment of that law for lack of knowledge of reading that newspaper or watching a little news. But, in most situations that are a big issue, then people will find out those things through word of mouth. My point is that we need to inform ourselves on whats happening in the world today. We have learned that from the past three speakers we have had in a wonderful English class.

Is Abstinence still in existence today?
So, I have been thinking. I have took a pledge when I was 12 years old. The pledge was not to have sex until marriage. Now, I am 18 years old and I have kept that promise. So, I am on a collge campus where I see so many people just fooling around and having sex with person after person like its nothing to them. Do you know how precious your body is? Do you understand the consequences of laying down and having sex. Abstinence does still exist. Abstinence is 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. Although many birth control methods can have high rates of success if used properly, they can fail occasionally. Practicing abstinence ensures that a girl won't become pregnant because there's no opportunity for sperm to fertilize an egg.
Not having sex may seem easy because it's not doing anything. But peer pressure and things you see on TV and in the movies can make the decision to practice abstinence more difficult.
If it seems like everybody else is having sex, some people may feel they have to do it, too, just to be accepted. Don't let kidding or pressure from friends, a girlfriend, a boyfriend, or even the media push you into something that's not right for you. The truth is that most teens are not having sex.
A couple can still have a relationship without having sex. If you've made a decision not to have sex, it's an important personal choice and the people who care about you should respect that.
P.S. Its your choice, be wise and make a good one.
